An Empty Chair

“An Empty Chair” By  Pratiksha Misra From morning cereal, To an evening affair, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From an angry state, To a cry for an extra bread to spare, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From the fresh water fish, To the piping hot biryani, Served in a silver dish, From crying babies, To toddler care, From trying outs, To wedding outfits, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From laughter roar, To midnight chuckles, From quieter score, To quilted giggles, From a spicy gravy, To sour taffy, From bitter to sweet, There was always dessert in the fridge, And a smiling nudge at the topmost layer, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. Now since you are gone, There is no winner at the dinner, No one asks what you would Like to eat, No one sits and repeats, How a dish tastes, It all ended too soon, How is that fair? That now instead of you, What we have is an empty chair.. *On this occassion of Thanksgiving, what my family craves for is ...

Just A Little

Just a little smile..
Just a little thought.
Just a little while..
Just a little plot.
Just a little mile..
Just a tiny slot.
Just a little pain..
And a little clot.
Just a little jump..
On the little bump.
Just a little free..
Full of glee.
Just a little hope..
Dreading to elope.
Just a little dope.
Climbing a little slope..
To ease down the rope.
Just a little tug..
Before the glimpse of your dream..
However impossible it seem.
Just a little darkness..
Surrounded by dampness.
Just a little something..
Just a little someday.
Just a little forgetful..
And a bit tactful.
Just little words..
Just a little said.
Just a little breathe..
Just a little fed.
Just a little play..
On the overarching clay.
Just a little era..
Of mesmerized aura.
Just a little something..
Like the whisper in your ear.
Just a little touch..
Grasped upon your fear.
Just a little notion..
Just the right emotion.
Just a little steep..
That goes down deep.
And a little wish..
To the grandeur unleash.
