An Empty Chair

“An Empty Chair” By  Pratiksha Misra From morning cereal, To an evening affair, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From an angry state, To a cry for an extra bread to spare, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From the fresh water fish, To the piping hot biryani, Served in a silver dish, From crying babies, To toddler care, From trying outs, To wedding outfits, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. Who thinks ,thinks and thinks…
Who blinks , blinks and blinks.
Who doesn’t give up..
Who doesn’t live up..
To expectations.
Who fades, fades and fades..
Who invades , invades and invades.
Who ceases when left.
Who with bruises stretches..

Who collects the ashes..
Who neglects the stashes..
While growing up..
In relations.

It’s not just you..
But agreed it’s now a handful..
But most of us..
Are alike..
Trying to hit a balanced strike.
