An Empty Chair

“An Empty Chair” By  Pratiksha Misra From morning cereal, To an evening affair, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From an angry state, To a cry for an extra bread to spare, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From the fresh water fish, To the piping hot biryani, Served in a silver dish, From crying babies, To toddler care, From trying outs, To wedding outfits, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. From laughter roar, To midnight chuckles, From quieter score, To quilted giggles, From a spicy gravy, To sour taffy, From bitter to sweet, There was always dessert in the fridge, And a smiling nudge at the topmost layer, What never was around, Was an empty chair.. Love The Love In

I love the love in
A mother's touch
A father's eyes
A brother's taunt
A sister's flaunt

I love the love in
A mob's trust in the speaker
A group's belief in the preacher
A child's solace in her teacher
A leader making a path for his seeker

I love the love in
Similar likes among friends
Doing repetitive routine with partners
A sense of strength that reflects from a stranger
A lens of innocence shown by a kid while you shout back at her in anger

I love the love in
The struggles that life puts you through
The juggles in making something out of nothing
Traveling somewhere without knowing
Taking a long walk to shake the anxiety within
Talking to yourself about how stronger you have become
That you finally have started to love the love in loving none other than yourself
